Mr Hall-Jones makes the presentation. At the Supreme Court this morning, Thos. Henry Goodger, who was found guilty of manslaughter, was sentenced to two and a half years' imprisonment. 'I he Chief Justice said he did not think prisoner intended to kill Prestidge, whom he stabbed with a pocket knife in a street quarrel, and spoke strongly against the drinking habit. Francis Gordon Waddell, found guilty of assault on Mr S. Gilmer, was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment. DUNEDIN, This Day. The inquest was resumed to-day on Archibald McKay, who, with a fellowworker, Anderson, died from the effects of poisoning at the cement works. McKay's wife said he told her he had been mixing some acid in a cask for burning zinc off wire netting, and had inhaled the fumes. Dr Evans was of the opinion that death was due to the poison circulating in the blood as the primary cause.
