"Barabbas."
On Tuesday evening next the popular Woods-Williamson Company will produce at the Zealandia Hall for the first time m Palmerston, MaudiWilliamson's wonderfully clever dramatisation of Mane Corelli's world-famed sensationalwork "Barabbas." Referring to this production, the New Zealand Herald says: "Wholesome in tone and intensely dramatic, the spectacular drama Barabbas," produced by the WoodsWilliamson Company last night, should spell big houses. Aglow with glamour and religious fervour the play cannot' but appeal to the Christian folk of every denomination, whilst ordinary theatregoers will derive from its stirring and striking scenic effects tho utmost satisfaction. In Alfred .Woods we have a manly Barabbas passionately in love with Judith the daughter of Iscariot. . . . Maud Williamson is convincingly clever as Judith,-enhancing her high reputation. She betrays a passion and power that stamps her as an actress of great commanding ability. Altogether the production, upon which it is evident no expense has been spared, is a remarkable one." The management are extending cordial invitations ■to the clergy of all denominations to witness the production of " Barabbas.'.'
