Sale of Work.
■ Business still continues very brisk at, the Congregational Church bazaar at the Lyceum Theatre, an animated demand existing each day for the number of remarkably pretty, artistic and useful articles on sale. However, despite the heavy sales that have taken place, there is still a host of articles to be disposed of, and to enable this to be done, the theatre-was opened at an early hour to-, day, thus giving country people an opportunity to visit the function. Everything will be offered at reduced prices to effect a total clearance. ■
_ The usual round of amusing competi-. tions took place last night and afforded great merriment to the visitors. The results were as follow: —Drawing competition (blindfold), Miss- Baker; hat trimming, Mr A. Roe; wool winding, Mrs J. Bett; best button hole, Miss Scanlan; bun-eating competition, Master H. Baker. During the evening Miss Burgess and Mr Peat danced a sailor's hornpipe, and were loudly applauded. The competitions for to-night are as follow :—Young men,' best ladies' spray of flowers, entry 6d; boys, hat trimming, entry 6d; girls, best ladies' spray of flowers (prize handkerchief boxes), entry 6d ; men, best drawing (blindfold) entry Is; young ladies' hat-trimming, entry 6d. . • ■
