Montgomery's Entertainers.
The above popular combination of popular entertainers appear in the Zealandia Hall next Thursday and Friday, 6th and 7th inst. Mr Montgomery has now the strongest company he has ever brought to Palmerston; " Professor Parker, the handcuff lung, is a master of locks, bolts, and bars. His appearance at each of the main centres in New Zealand, also in Australia, has attracted large audiences, during which time he has been fastened up in every kind of position with innumerable kinds" of manacles and has on each occasion freed himself without any apparent trouble. He challenges the police, detectives, and public to secure him with any regulation manacle in sucha maiu ncr that he cannot'free, himself. Zeno the Great, whose artistic .juggling "has gained.for him the title of the American Cmquevalli, isa very clever whose manipulation of various articles is nightly received with rounds of applause. Mr Montgomery has several new items for himself; and is very ably supported by Miss Hargood (soprano), Miss May Dagnaar (serio), Mr Harry Hall (comedian), Fred Gibson (coon impersonator), and Miss Esther Norden, A.L.C.M., musical directress, who combine to make one of the most versatile 1 and attractive companies that has visited Palmerston for a very long period, The box plan for the season, is now open at Mr Park's.
The Company .appeared at "Woodville last night and had. a capital reception. Professor Parker's performance met with storms of applause. Chains weighing one cwt were placed on him and although padlocked he released himself in two minutes, his skill and cleverness being fully appreciated by the audience.
