Congregational Church.

Sale of Work.— To-Night.

The sale of work in connection with Emmanuel Congregational Church commences to-night in- the Lyceum Theatre. The ladies, who have been working for the last eight months, were busy to-day arranging for sale the fruits of their labour in the shape of a number of varioususeful articles in plain needlework; also, a variety of pretty and attractive fancy goods, which should command a, ready .sale. The flower and produce stalls have their special features; while healthful and innocent amusement will be provided for all ages with various competitions. The various stall-holders will be as follow: — ■ .

Plain Work.—Mesdames Burges, Buchan,' Smith arid Miss Banks.

Fancy. — Mcsdames Leigh, Olsen, Campbell, Spratt and' Miss Morris.

Befreshrnents.— Mesdames Morgan, Hastie, Merriman and Miss Morton. Produce. —Mrs McDowell, Misses Perry and Feck and Mr A. Pioe.

Sweets.—Misses Buchan, Mawhiney, Andrews and Paine.

Flowers.—Mesdames Eawlins, Black' burn and Mr Nairn.

The sale will be opened by the Mayor, at 7.30 promptly, this evening, and with the promise of fine weather there is every probability of there being a very successful time.

The programme of competitions for to-night is a comprehensive one. It includes the following:—Little girls, best small bunch, of tiowere, entry 3d. , Men) winding wool,'girls'"holding"' wool, entry Is. Boys, stabbing the pumpkin, entry 6d. Big girls, dressing the dandy, entry od. Young women, best gent's buttonhole, entry 6d.

The sale will be open to-morrow at 2 p.m.
