Otaki Races.
Owners of horses haying engagements at the-Otaki races arc reminded.that acceptances for first day's handicaps, and entries for the Maiden Plate, six furlongs, close to-night, at 8 o'clock, with Mr Hema E. Te Ao (secretary), Otaki.

' Emir and Sweet Nell did ten furlongs in 2min 16sec, Sylvanite a mile in Imin 48sec, Demas nine furlongs in 2min H sec, Nuncio and Ballark a mile in Imin 46sec. Wairiki was absent from the track. Betting on the V.Ri.C. Derby is 6 to 4 against Sylvanite, 2 to 1 Demas, 5 to 1 Koopan.
