SYDNEY, September 23.
A Bill introduced into the Assembly provides that the Cabinet shall consist of nine members, instead of < eight as at present. . The portfolios of Justice and Attorney-General will be separated, likewise that of Minister of Agriculture, while the Colonial Secretary is to be abolished. Two members of the Cabinet will have seats in the Council. The salaries of Ministers are not to exceed LIO.OCO. , The specific allotment of salaries to individual Ministers is repealed, leaving it the Cabinet to' apportion the emoluments of office. The Bill also abolishes : the necessity for the reeleotion of Ministers on taking office.
The application of the Northern colliery miners to preserve the working conditions was decided in their favour at the Arbitration Court. This disposes of the notice given by the colliery proprietors for a reduction in the hewing rate.
