Arrangements have been made for the First Grand Handicap in Palmerston to be run on Wednesday afternoon, October sth, 1904, at the rear of the Family Hotel, Rangitikei-street. The stakes offered total 5 soys and there is a gold medal. The distance is 75 yards and the race will be run in heats. Nominations close at the Family Hotel, October Ist, and acceptances close on the ground. Competitors are required to state their last three performances and no noininactions will be accepted without entrance fees. Mr F. H. Burbush will act as handicapper and starter.
