Japan Congratulates Britain.

(Received September 23, at 8.58 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 22. At the farewell durbar at Lhassa the Thibetan officials were most friendly and offered gifts of silks and clothes to all members of the mission.
Japan has congratulated Britain on the satisfactory termination of the expedition, which had greatly increased British prestige on the Continent.
Received September 23, at 9.25 a\m.) BERLIN, Sept. 22. The German press, commenting upon the Russian expressions of indignation regarding the Thibetan treaty and reports that the Buddhists of Mongolia are likely to rise, assumes that China, as she recognised the progress of Buddhism, had sanctioned the treaty beforehand.
