Russians Driven Northwards.
■Received September 23, at 7-32 a.m. LONDON, Sept 22. Marshal Oyania has telegraphed that seven battalions of infantry, with two batteries,' attacked the Japanese at Chingtatse on the 17th. A sharp engagement ensued.
A portion of the Mukden force approached nearest, and then began to retire north-west, the Japanese artillery firing on them for half an hour, inflict.tng a heavy loss.
