The general meeting of the Apiti Tennis Club was held on Friday evening. There was a fair attendance of members, the chair being occupied by Mr Matthews. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £i 8s 4d. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—-President, Mr Stephens; vice-presidents, Messrs Guy and Osborne ;-captain, Mr Matthews; secretary, Mr Decke; treasurer, Mr Be.Hneti; general committee, Mesdames Matthews and Prouse, Mr Millet and officers ex officio ; ladies' committee, Mesdames Miller, Millett, Matthews, Varley, Prciuse, Misses Boss and Stewart. It was decided to open the season with a match, town v. country, on October Ist.

The Apiti troop of the Feilding Mounted Eifles paraded on Saturday. The troop was exercised by Sergeant Dick.

The general meeting of thevApiti Cricket Club was held on Saturday night. The election of officers resulted as follow s .—President, Mr Watson; vice-presidents, Messrs Falkner and Osborne; secretary, Mr C. Osbbrne; committee, Messrs Millett, Matthews, Curtis, Hoperoft, Guy and Graham. For the purpose of raising funds it was decided to try and arrange; a match with Eimbolton to be played in fancy costume.

The Salvation Army's entertainment and coffee supper- on Saturday night waa in every way a success. Tbe entsrtainment consisted.. of sopgs, duets, recitations, poi poi .'and club swinging. The bachelors ".ate straining every ef. fort to make their balJ, which is to be held next Friday, as big a Bncceßs as formerly.. ; The milk suppliers on Eidge Road are going to celebrate the opening of theie creamery by a dinnerj social, and dance. .

The School Committee met on the 12th mat. The: headmaster's report showed the average for the month to be 84. The annual examination takes place op the 26th and 27ih iDst. It was decided to make enquiries re acquiring an additional acre of ground for a hors9 paddock. It was, also, decided to enquire whether truancy cases could not be heard in Apiti instead of parents having to attend in Feilding.
