Russian Cavalry Condemned.

Japanese Successes.

LONDON, September 19. 1 Russian military critics are disappointed at the inactivity and uselessness of the cavalry, except in covering retreat. The cavalry invariably watches the flanks, and yefc the Japanese infantry turned them. The chief need is for properly equipped infantry artillery. It is officially announced that Kuroki's spoils include S guns. Oyama reports his captures included 3,578 rifles, 1,396,930 cartridges, 7,356 shells, 70 horses, 167 ammunition waggons, and sufficient timber to construct the depot buildings for Oku's army.
