Golf

Tho captain's medal lor Juno was played for on Saturday in beautiful golfing weather, nnd a good many players took part. The competition resulted in a tie between three plavcrs, C. J. Munro hep. 8. P. Sim hep. "8, and .1. W. llarden hep. 18, all finishing 2 down on bogey. Harden is quito a beginner, and practices hard, ami is very painstaking and i.'i making rapid progress. Ho should be well satisiivd to so soon got a win to his credit. Tno handicappcrs took rather a liberty with C. J. Monro in enlarging his handicap by so much, but ho does not play tho game he used to. Sim also is not on his game, and is somewhat patchy. L. A. Abraham and Strang wero playing good golf, and both were " up oj bogey " until the last few holes, when they went to pieces, and could only fill second and third places with tho respective scores of ti down and 4 down, tho former playing wi.h a handicap of 0, and Sliang being at scratch. The other cards handed in were not good considering tho weather, and were as follow :—

E. S. Abraham hdcp 5— 5 down H. Hammond ~ IS — v down i{. Millton „ 15— C down G. Wilson scr — 7 down Col. Govton hdcp lei— 3 down L. Plmrazyn ~ la—lo down C. Louisson ~ 10—l;-i down The rest of tho players did not return any cards.

Jioth J. "Wilson and U. S. Abraham appear very much off their »aum this Reason, and the handieappers might treat thorn moro leniently. * Tho mens1 foursome competition, to be played for o!!
