After -*. disonbinf the march ts Carnarvon and bact. he continues :—" We camped at bprmgfontein for two nights, when the regiment went on to Bloeai: fontern, having the Vet., Lieutenant and twenty men behind (m yse lf i n . eluded) to look after sick horses. We have 78 horses here on a farm, about four miles from the town, with sore back* and various other ailments. We have a good time of it the last four days plenty of good tucker (beef, f»wls, etc )' and not too much to do, but we are all' under orders to mov« to-morrow to Bloemfontem, with over 850 horses as remounts. Thejgo through here every daj in threeor four hundred lets. We have one efrthe 16th Lancer., four of the Koyal Artillery, and a lot of Kaffir boys with üb. One of the ihird contingent named Biehardson, from Gisborne, who was in »the Hospital at East London, was sent •n to join his regiment, and lost his way r so he is going on with us.
