The Wainui Ashore.
Per Press Association. Westport, July 14. The Corinna left the Wainui at 5 o'clock last evening and arrived here at 10 this' morning. Captain Downie reports that the Wainui lies safely and snugly in Waikawa Bay, well sheltered from all weathers. Captain Lambert-»> nt 11 boat ashore and got Mr Wells, r_f settler, to place lights on the best part oiyie beach, and then he ran the steamor at full speed on to the sand. The steamer was making a little water forward. He understood that tho Wainui. grazed, alongside the Beef Barrels, and did not run over the rocks.
