The School Election Petition.
At the meeting of the Education Board yesterdalyu a lengthy protest was read from a number of Palmerston residents against the late election, for the second time, of a school committee for this year on the ground of certain alleged irregularities, and praying that an inquiry be made into the charges. A memorial was also read from a much larger number of househojders disputing the statements as to the irregularities; and praying that he election be sustained. To this Mr Stevens moved, as an amendment,. That the Board have not sufficient evidence before 'them to, prpve that the manner m which the election iof the school* committee was con4n|^d^!^Jle^al,^|d^thereforeide- '■■, cline to accede" loathe prayer of the petitioners who have asked that: it be declared void.
