Wanganui and Feilding Stock Quotations.

FREEMAN R. JACKSON'S & CO.'S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK REPORT,

We have no alteration m values to report; the demand for store stock is fairly active ; all that come forward find buyers at current rates. Store wethers are enquired for, and full prices can be obtained. Our Feilding sale passed off fairly well, prices ruling slightly under those at Wanganui. We are making, extensive alterations and additions to the Feilding yards ; the result will be to show stock' at better advantage. Our Johnsonyille yards are approaching completion, when we hope to make a beginning next-month. ;We hold an import-; ant sale of purebred cows on Tuesday next, and as the reserve will below we r expect to make an easy 'clearance,' nibre especially as the cows have all been broken m and milked ; jW^e need hardly * add thai tbe animals are pure-bred, Mr McHardy's name being sufficient for that, his herd being one of the best m New Zealand. Quotations are — Cattle.— At Feilding— Fat cows, £3 to , £3 6s ; 2-yr-old steers, d 62 4s; cows. £Z' to £2 3s6d; heifers, £l 17s 6d ; weaners, £1 7s to £1 11s. At St. Hill Street-^ Fat cows, M 15s to £4; weaners, 28s to 80s ; calves, 13s to 19s; Sheep.— At Feilding — Store wethers. 8s 7d to 8s 9d ; ewes m lamb, 6s to 8s Id ; fat sheep, 9s 9d ; lambs, 3s 4d to ss. At St. Hill Street— Wethers, 8s 3d to 9s ; ewes m lamb, 6s to 8s ; old ewes, 2s 9d to 5s 9d. ' Horses.— -We sold about the usual number at current rates ; draughts, £15 to £22 ; hacks* £7 to £10 ; sqrews and weeds, 20s to 50s. Poultry .--Fowls, 2s 3d to 2s 6d the couole ; dncks, 3s to 4s ; turkeys, 7s to 8s the couple.
