It is supposed they are staying quietly at Wairoa till the present north-westerly «ale has exhausted itself, and with their supplies and the remainder of the contents of McEae's cellar are holding; out comfortably. Mr Johnson, the ■Government agent, has however deemed it prudent to despatch Constable Cavanagh to look them up and ascertain their safety. The native policeman went out to investigate the report. He states that the report is perfectly true. .
