We have received a copy of Messrs T. K. Macdonald & Co's Property Gnide for the present month. It is as usual a very neat pamphlet, and it contains particulars of properties for sale m this district, and a record of sales for the month m all parts of New Zealand. The N.Z.S. Co's R.M.S. Tongariro leaves Port Chalmers on Friday morning for Wellington, and should arrive there some time ou Saturday morning. A very large number of fish were killed m Wellington harbour by the ex. plosions of the mines during the sham fight on Saturday afternoon. The beach at Oriental Bay was strewn with dead fish, some of them of considerable size. The iteamer Triumph will leave Wellington for the Kimberley gold fields oa or about the 30th of this month. In the Wellington Magistrate's Court an action was brongnt by Wm. Hall against E. D&vey to recover £B damages, for injuries caused to a horse. The evidence showed that the horse m question wandered into the defendant's paddock, and when the lattur was m the act of driving it out it fell and broke its leg. The owner, therefore, sought to recover damages for the loss of the animals service. Mr Wardell held that no unnecessary force had been used by the defendant, so that he was not responsible for the accident. Plaintiff was therefore non suited with costs.
