THE SECRETARY OF THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
fTO THE EDITOR i»AILY BTANDABD.) Sir,— Who is the Secretary of the School Committee ? I understood that Mr Wright had vacated fthat position, because he considered the election of the Committee altogether illegal. He did not attend one or two meetings,, which was consistent*; and lo but beheld, I see by the report m your paper, that ho attended last Monday evening, acted as Secretary, ami read the' minutes! Now, Sir, will' you inform me did. he really jead the minutes? Lean scarcely credit it. What a humiliation ■ for him it must have been. But, what r was the ulterior motive m going there, ; oa where is his consistency m going? ■ All along be has held that the election i was illegal, and has gone single-handed, (at least so we are told), to upset , it. And ndw he. admits that the proceedings were regular, and after absenting himself without cause, reason, or apology,' from two or three meetings, all at once he suddenly attends again, sits ! as Secretaryj and actually reads the mifautes! I mußt confess, I cannot understand Mr Wright at all. Whatever his object m these bis latest tactics, I think he must forfeit all claim to consistency m the future. — I am, etc., PrjßLio Opinion.
