MESSRS HUNTER AND NOLAN'S REPORT.
Auckland, Friday. Horses. — A large number of a really good stamp were brought forward and offered at the Durham yards last Friday, and consequently considerable activity was experienced m the market. The shipment ex Gairloch was exceptionally ffood, and elicited brisk competition. Hacks sold at from £5 10s to £15 7s 6d ; lisrht harness horses, £7 10s to £11 15s ; light draughts, from £17 to £20 ; heavy draughts, £26 10s. Wool, Hides, and Skins. — There was an increased supply at the Durham yards on Thursday, competition being brisk. We quote hides from 3d to 4^-d per 1b ; skins, from Is to Is lOd eaoh : wool, superior, 4d per ft ; tallow, £13 per ton. . .j . Fat Cattle.— The number brought forward was below the average. The demand was steady, and for well fatted oxen prices were sustained, and m exceptional instances an advance was given. Fat Sheep. — The numbers penned on Tuesday were insufficient for requirements, and there was an increase m value. 1 Best wethers sold at 16s eaoh ; lighter weights irom lls 6d to 15s 6d ; ewes, from 9s 6d to 12s.
