Stevens and Gorton's Report.
Bulls. Friday. Our stock sales at Awahuri on 18th, Marton on 25th, and Feilding on 27th, were well attended. At Awahuri and Feilding large entries of stock came forward ; at the former place over 200 head of cattle, and 600 sheep ; at latter, close four hundred head of cattle, and over two thonsand sheep ; at Marton we had several pens of sheep, numbering about 1000, but not quite 100 head of cattle. Ai Awahnri the sale of cattle was brisk, arid we sold everything except a few cows and some weaaers ; the bidding for sheep was rather dull. At Marton it was the reverse ; the bidding for cattle was duller, but for sheep brisk, and we sold every pen excepting two. At Feilding, both cattle and sheep went off very fairly; the well-bred weaners, steers, belonging to Mr Chas. Cameron, of Turakina, bringing, we believe, the highestjprice this year, — viz., £2 2s. We quote as follows : — At Awahuri. — Fat cows, f,3 10s to £4 ; heifers, £8 2s 6d ; 2iyr steers, £3 7s 6d to £3 10s ; 3 yr heifers, m calf, £2 13s Gi to £3 8s ; 3-yr steers, £3 14s 6d ; yearling heifers, 265; store cows, £2; milkers, £2 10s to M ; ewes (m lamb), 5s 4.i to 7s sd. At Marton. — Store cows, 39s to £2 10s ; 2£-yr-old heiters, £2 2s ; fat wethers, 9s Id ; lambs (m wool), 4s lOd ; lambs (shorn), 4s 2d ; mixed young sheep, 7s 9d; culls, 3s.
At Feilding.— Fat cows, £3 10s ; to £4 : 2-yr steers, £3 ; store, cows, 34s to 38s; yearlings mixed), 28s to 34s 6d; well-bred weaners, £2 2s; yearling steers, £2 3s 6d ; yearling and 18-month heifers, 345 ; pure-bred Ayrshire bull, j£lo 10s ; fat wether^ 'Bs ; fat ewes, 7s Id to 7s 6d ; lambs (m wool), 6s ; lambs, 5s 3d ; ewes (m lamb), 5s 9d to 6s 6d ; pigs, 10a
