Caledonian Society.

A general meeting of the abova Society was held m the Royal Hotel last . evening. ' , Present — Messrs Cohen, Weight, Bentley, Rawlins, Flood, Pirani, F. Mow lem, Robert, W. Fenton, Healy,- anil . Partridge, The minutes of last meeting were read, and confirmed. The Secretary read a list of the name* of prize winners, the total amount beinff £37 8s 6d; he stated that about 72 members had paid up their subscriptions out of about 80. A vote of thanks was carried to the special prize-givers, on the motion of Mr Weight It was stated that the ball returns would show a deficit of 7s 9d, and that as far as could be ascertained at present! the total results of the day would give the Society a credit balance of 30s of more. A letter was read from Smith object' ing to the decision of the walking match judges, • • It was resolved not to interfere with their decision. Mr Cohen was appointed auditor. Mr, Flood was informed that tha Society had a banking account. The meeting adjourned to Friday the 4th June at the Commercial Hotel, when the balance sheet will be laid before the members.
