Frozen Meat Trade.
The N.Z. L. and M. Agency Company report under date 20th. Prices realised m London are rather lower now than they were for the three previous months. Cabled quotations range, for mutton 5d to s£tl, and for lamb 6d to 6|d. Although large quantities of ■ River Plate mutton have been placed on the' Home Market, the New Zealand shipments have easily held the first place m favour and price, Dunedin. — The s.s. Ruapehu has just loaded up 6,750 carcases mutton., pro* pared at the Burnside Freezing Works* This shipment will be followed by about 4,500 earoases per b.s. Knikoura leaviug here about the middle of June: - . . Christchurch.—- The 8.8. Coptic left Lyttelton on Ist instant, with 7,750 carcases mutton aud 3,550 carcases o£ lamb. The R.M.S. Ruapehu is now re* ceiviug from the Belfast Freezing Stores a shipment of 7,000 to 8,000 j carcases mutton. At the Factory, si an tor ing has begun for a shipment of aoout 7,000 carcases for the s.s. Tainui, to sail at the end of the present month;
