-■..—— — -♦ (united press association.) Dunedi v « Thursday. : The Dunedin City Council have received the first claim for .£l5O for damages in- connection with injuries to buildings by an explosion. The funeral of Mrs Irvine, the second victim of the Dunedin blasting accident, which toofc place yesterdpy, was largely attended, many business place 3 closing. Wellington, Thursday. Mr Michiah Read is recovering from the effects of the accident he met with. The Russian warship Vestnik saluted the anniversary of^ the Czar by firing a salute of 32 guns. The Wellington Artillery followed with a salute of 21 guns. The following are the Wellington passengers by ;the Tainui, which leaves Lyttelton for London on Saturday:— Saloon: Mrs Graham, Messrs W, H. Levin, J. : Bull, C. Armitage, and S. Carter : steerage ':• Mr Wedner.
