[Napier Telegragh correspondent,] •;The man Neave died on Saturday from theinjuries he received. In hig dying depositions he swore Rowland shot him, and then struck him on the head with an axe. At the inquest a verdict ot 11 Wilful Murder" against Kowland, who had been remanded till Saturday, was returned. It appears a horrible and coldblooded affair. Both were contracting together, and a quarrel about the partnership ensued. Rowland, without warning, shot deceased, and tried to finish the deed with an axe. Neave walked four miles afterward. The bullet entered his breast, through the liver, and out at the arm. The doctor's evidence showed that it was impossible for deceased to have done the deed himself. Rowland gave information to the police that the man shot himself, and he was told to fetch him to the hospital but he never returned, which is at present all the evidence against him. Neave was a fine handsome young man, aged 23, sft. 9irj. high, well connected, and. possessed of considerable property,
