It is probable that there will be an inquiry into the Road Board •lection •-* Lougburn last week. The official' returns give only 15 votes a» recorded for Mr Hamilton, whereas it is said that some 20 ratepayer* arei prepared to affirm that tuey voted forhim. Perhaps some of the votes mayhave been infernal. At any rate, an, inquiry is to be petitioned for. Miss McKelvie, eldest daughter or John McKelvie, Esq., of Lower Rangitikei, was yesterday married to Mr JohnHammond, son of Mr Richard Ham.' mond of York Farm. There was a. large gathering of the friends and rela. tives of the bride and bridegroom. Mr~ and Mrs Hammond came on m theirbuggy last night to the Royal Hotel here.
