Great Fire at Honolulu.
A TEBRIBLE CONFLAGRATION.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, Tuesday. Further particnlarg of- the Honolulu fire, from the Herald's correspondent state that 30 acres of building! were destroyed, six to eight thousand Cbinei* were made destitute and homeless, and two lives were lost The fire broke out on Monday afternoon. The lobmb of German insurance companies amount to £25,500. American £4150, and British £10,380, The insurance in colcnial companies make up a total of £45,480. The Hawaiian Council voted £3000 for the relief of the sufferers. The British warships Satllite and Heroine landed a brigade of seamen to aid in suppressingthe fire.but explosures of kerosene stored by Chinese storekeepers, in violation of the law, frustrated their efforts. Dynamite was used to blow up houses in order lo arrest the progress of the fire.
