Road Board Election.
:; Mr John Bell was yesterday nominated for No. 5 Ward m the Manawatu Road Board District, and Mr J. F. Pratt for No. 4 Ward. It will thus be saen that No. 1 Ward will be contested by Messrs Hamilton and Sly, No. 2 Ward by Mexsrs Snelson and Buick, No. 3 Ward by Messrs Edwards and Prendegast. For No. 4 Ward Mr Pratt has been returned, for No. 5 Mr John Btil, and No. 6,Mr Mathieson, all being unopposed. The election will take place. on Friday,. May 7, as follows : — For No. 1 Ward m the building belonging to 'Mr John Bow, at Longbum; for No. 2 Ward, Taonni School House, $angitikei Line ; for No. 8. Ward, at Mr T. .Edwards' house, Stoney.
