♦ THE BRITISH PARLIAMENT. HARCOURT'S BUDGET STATEMENT. DEFICIENCY OF £2,750,000. (by electric telttgraph.— copyright.,? (jieuter's telegrams.) London, April 16. The Cnancellor of the Exchequer made his Budget Statement m the House of Commons to-night. The revenue for the financial year just closed, amounted to £89,n00,000, and the expenditure for the same period to or £2,750,000 more than the revenue. The revenue for the ensuing financial year is estimated at £'90,500,000, and the expenditure at £89,875,000. The revenue from the Customs and Excise, alcoholic beverages, for tho 12 months was £1,000,000 below the estimate. It is proposed to meet the deficiency by taking £800,000 from the sinking fund. No increase of taxation is contemplated.
