We understand the case of Gale v. Andrewatha Bros 1 ., will be hoard at the Supremo Court on Wednesday next. Mr J. H. Sankins by Mr Atkinson will appear for plaintiff and Mr A. &. Baker for defendants. We are informed that the case O'Cttunor v. H. T. Flyger to have been heard at the present sitting of the . Supreme Court Wanganui has been definitely settled.between the parties. The magisterial inquiry into the wieck of tlie Taiaroa will commence at Wellington to-iiiorrow. A report is abroad that the Rev O. Chriatoffersßii, who some time ago proceeded to the Hoi Springs, for the benefit of his health, bad taken ill there, and had to be removed' to the Wellington Hospital. We trust the report is incur r«ct. At the King concert m Wanganui. the tone of the Hoeling and Spangenberg piano, lent for the occasion oy Messrs Collier Brothers, was specially remarked by all as bein^ very fine. A certain lady was one day much annoyed by the ringing of her door-bell by the mischievous boys m the vicinity and determined to be made-, no more a fool of by going to the door. In the course of the afternoon, however her minister called to see her, dressed m his nicest manner. Ho ascended the steps and gently drew the bell handle, when the lady shouted from the entry, 'I see you. inj' lad ! If I ea'tchyou, fw- wring your neck." At the Wanganui SuDmne Court yesterday, the Maori prisoner, Tar* Peina, charged with stealing a saddle and bridle, challanged a whole batch of twelve jurors. This is the full number allowed to be challenged by a prisoner. AttheFoxton Resident Magistrate's Court, on Monday, a small boy was fined ss, and costs 13s, for worrying a cat with two dogs.
