Quotations are unaltered, and rule as follows: — Oats, from 2s 4d to 2s 6d, with a somewhat weakening tendency ; oatmeal, £12 10) ; flour, from £8 15s to £10, according to brand ; wheatmeal, £9 10s ; good whole fowls' wheat, 8s sd; common,. 3b to 3s 3d ; fowls' barley, 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; maize, 4s; pollard and bran, £6 all round; I" beans, 3s 9d ; peas, 4s Gd ; rye grass, 5s to 5s 6d; cocksfoot, 4^A; onions are ; somewhat overstocked, and rule from £6 :to M lOs ; potatoes, the quality of which is very uncertain and irregular, maintains last i week's values, £3 15s to £4. Advices just to hand from Sydney by the s.a. Wakatipu report the butter market m a most unsatisfactory condition, m consequence of an excess of supplies from New Zealand, prices having reduced quite Gd per lb, and the nominal quotation is now 8d per Ib. Should the New South Wales Government succeed m carrying their tariff proposals the recently imposed duty of 2d per tt> on this article will seriously affect the New Zealand trade. Dairy produce is only meeting with moderate inquiry. Eggs are scarce at Is 9d per doz.
