THE PASSENGER LIST.
As far as is known the following passengers booked at Wellington. Mrs Fitzgerald, Messrs Ward, Torpedo Instructor, Constable McQnarrie . Sergeant^ Grant Messrs Anderson, Galbraith, and Vallance. The following is a list of the officers. Captain Thomson, chief officer, Mr Monkman, purser, Mr Rupobner; 2nd officer, name not known. -The Taiaroa left here at noon yesterday, and m 'the evening a terrific southerly gale came up. Mrs Fitzgerald, who was on the Taiaroa, was the wife of the editor of the Timaru Herald. Another passenger from Wellington is a Mr Hawkins, a bootmaker. The Penguin left at 11.30, for the scene of the wreck.
