Sydney, Tuesday. lii the Legislative Assembly to-day Sir Henry Parkes withdrew his motion m reference to the New Hebrides standing m his name, m order to allow the Colonial Treasurer to bring down his Budget. Sir Patrick Jennings accordingly made his Financial Statement, shewing a deficiency for the year of £1,703,000. It is proposed to increase the Customs tariff and include imported barley and butter, also double the present duty on hops. Five per cent, ad valorem duty will also, it is believed, be levied on a number of articles now admitted free. A. Land Tax ef £d m the £ on the unimproved value is projected,- and it is proposed to levy an income tax of 4d m the £ on all incomes over £300 per annum. Melbourne, Tuesday.
