UNEMPLOYED SEAMEN.
A procession of teamen marched from London docks to the city on the, after* noon of March 10, to make a deraoiutration against Government for neglecting to take steps towards relieving trade of its depression. They behaved m an orderly manner, and were loudly cheered along the route. . They carried a great number of banner*, soufe of which bore> tho inscription, >( British labor ii sacrificed m the interest of foreign labor etc.". The procession attracted much ■, attention} and the streets through which [ it passed were filled with people. For a. time there . was some excitement caused by the fear that the" roughs and roudies might use the occasion to reproduce the scenes of the Trafalgar Square) riots. When the seamen reached the> city they proceeded to the neighbour* hood of the Board of Trade rooms; when they held a meeting. They appointed ft Committee to wait upon Mr A« J. Mundella, President of the Boord of Trade, and urge the necessity of such changes m the Freetrade policy of the Government as might be necessary to revive) thefoieigu and domestic trade of th« Empire.
