(Before R. Ward, Esq., Judge.) The objections o£ J. E, Nathan and Co. were heard. Mr J. H. Hankins appeared foe the objectors and Mr Warburtoh for tbfe Bqcougji/Gquncil. '■■'"-, The latter addressing the Bench sdid : that uritil-ilie objectioD raised by Messrs Nathan and Co. was properly f rained ac--1 ording to the requirements of the Act' he would refuse to move m the matter. The Act stated clearly that, the objection to a valuation must plainly define the number of the section and exact situation separately. The document sent to the "Council by Messrs Nathan and Co. _l'ead_inerely_that-M-the whole of the yaiutions would-be objected to."; . -, \ .-' The Bench ruled that this objection on the part of the Council should be sec aside, as it was his opinion the notification sent was sufficiently explicit. The hearing therefore proceeded. The evidence of Messrs L. G. West, M. Cohen, and F. Mowlem was taken to prove rateable value of the several properties to the assessment of which by the . Borough valuer objebtion was taken. " • .' ' Mr Warburtoh declined to 'cross-ex-amine any of the witnesses, as he still maintained that the objections were improperly before the Court, and that the whole procedure was m consequence illegal.. ..■•';
