* The fortnightly meeting of tbe Wel"liA'gtcp? Waste Lands .Board wasjield on Thursday. Present— MeßsrsJ. W. A. Marehant (chairman), W. Fitaherbert, and*G. Beetharo, M.H.R. Schedule 168 of lauds showing that 431 acres had been applied for since the last meeting, at an.upset fcriceof £51$ o^^idi £24 Kad'beeh received, was row aira approved. • : The application of Mr A. K. Cock-burn-Hdod, to transfer Section* 10, Block VII., Mangaone, to Mr B. Todner, was granted. ; ' ? Mr J. McMillan applied for leave to purchase 5 acres of tho Pahiatua Township Reserve, on which his cottage stands on the banks of the Mangatainoke River. It was decided to have a proper report made on the matter before : the application could he granted. ' It was decided to allow Mr T. Suttnh to resume possession of section 283, Arawaru Block, formerly held by him.; Leave of absence was granted to Mr Beetham for six weeks' or two months.' Mr S. Bacon applied for authority to use the timber on Crown lands between Eketahuna and Hawera for sawmill purposes,' or to have the use of any land ajacent to Eketahuna for the same purpose. The matter was ordered -to stand over, as the land is under -offer at present to.aiSpecial Settlement Association. The Chairman submitted a statement of the amounts availablc.frona votes to open up Crown lands, and proposals for the expenditure of the sarnie, :. : It wasre solved to write to the Government asking that the unexpended balance of £180 from the former vote be spent on the Mangaone Road. The meeting then adjourned.
