Serious Accident.
We regret to learu that Dr Chalmers while riding out to Fitssherbert yesterday eveuiug was tlirowti from his horse, and sustained severe injuries, one leg beiug badly fractured. It would appear that the doctor was riding a horse belonging: to Mr Malcolm Stewart, an animal rather given to bolt. One stirrup leather and iron being missing, he used as a ina«eshif t a saddlestrai>. The horse bolted m Fitzherbert-street, the leather broke and the rider was thrown heavily to the ground, just m front of Mr Alliughani's residence. A severe compound fracture was sustained. The injured geutlem hi was removed to Mrs Kos'sin Broad-street, and surgical aid called In, As he is well . up iv. years the injury will tell on him. more: severe ly. We trust that a turn for the better can soon be reported.
