Kiug resigned: Proposed by Cr Stewart seconded br Cr Wood that the daymen be employed vi cumpleting the metalling* commended id Ferguson-street East before the wet weather set m. I An amendment was prooo3ed by df" ; Grace seconded by Cr Hawkins as follows, viz., that the matter be referred to the Public Works Committee. The amendment was carried. The Mayor drew the attention of the Crs to the tact that an order paper had previously existed and that m fact a resolution was m force whereby Crs were supposed to enter oa such paper previous to the Conn^l meeting all mat. ters intended to be dealt with at the meetings of the Council by them. He however found tb-t this order paper wai not attended to and would like the Coun- ! cil either to act up to its rules or rescind them and make fresh ones. - v Cr West gave notice of motion for next meeting that the resolution of the | Council be rescinded. The meeting then adjourned at 11 p.m.
