FOXTON RACING CLUB. **. A meeting of the Stewards of the Fbxton Racing Club was held v on Wednesday evening last. The protest against llambler and Mutninga m the Maiden Plate, on the grounds that these horses had. previously won public money, was considered. It was decided that the ,P4^test^ was sustained so far as Rambler was concerned, but" after consideration of the conditions of the Cavalry race won by Maminga at the Bulls meeting, "tHrStbwatds held 1 thafr the- horse-was-eligible to start, and awarded the stake's to his owner, Mr Ransfield's protest fee to be returned. The following were the conditions of the race referred to: —I*. Cavalry ißlice of^ £10, io? horse^ QW-ried^Vy* a member any mounted corps thai; haye been ridden twice within the last six months at parade (a certificate to that effect trom a commissioned oMceir of > the troop must accompany each entry)— ridden by a member of any troop m colours— winners of public money (ex- 1 cept hack races) Barred ; 12st up ; distance 2 miles ; entrance £1 ; post entry." , The protest against Marksman, m the hack flat race was, with the consent of the Stewards, allowed to be withdrawn.
