Conference between Government and Admiral Tryon.

(UNITED PBBSS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Monday. It is now considered certain that neither Admiral Try on nor his ship will go South. At first it had bean intended that the Hinemoa would be placnd at the disposal of the Admiral to visit th« Southern port*, with the riew of inspecting the Southern defences, and also the Weßt Coast Sounds but as the time of the Admiral m New Zea[and waters is limited he is unable to make his intended visits. The meeting of Admiral Tryon, hie Excellency the Governor, and the memb^rß of the Government, which was to have been held m Christchurch, has been abandoned, and it will now take place m Wellington early next week. The Premier and the Hon. Mr Larnach are expected at an early date, but it is uulikely that Sir Julius Yogel, who is at Waiwera, will be present. The reason ascribed for the chatige of programme is that Admiral Tryon is anxious to reach Hoba«t as early as possible, m order to be present at the conference re the Federation Council proposals. At the conference in- Wellington, the naval defences, ; Federation ' Council, and Samon affairs will be discussed. t ■ ■•■■■.. . ■ • . . ■
