The youth Pepper, who was treated for a bullet wound at the Melbourne Hospital on Tuesday morning;, has been arrested witli three others oh suspicion .of being concerned m the attempted bank robbery. The Collingwood prisoners are not yet identified by the bank officials, and have been remanded for the production of further evidence. Shipowners are making vigorous efforts to replace the crews, and are meeting with partial success. The engineers have followed the example of the seamen, and have issued a notice Announcing their intention to strike work. It is expressly stipulated however!, that this'action does not apply %o the Union Company of New Zealand. ' , /■■ Sydney, Friday., The seamen oh the Intercolonial steamers are acting, m concert ' with the Melbourne strikers,> and; the crew, of' Messrs Howard and Smith's &i. Rodondb have given formal notices of their intention to cease work at once.
