The usual weekly wool sale of the New Zealand Loan a.nd Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) was held this afternoon at their rooms. There was a large attendance of buyers, and the catalogue of 4000 bales which was submitted elicited spirited competition. Greasy merinos brought as much as lOd per ft, while greasy crossbreds fetched as high as 10£ d. Scoured wool sold up to 16£ d, and washed wools to 13£ d per ft.
