FEILDING JOCKEY CLUB.

A well attended meeting was held at the Town Hall, Feilding, on Tuesday evening last, m connection with the above Club. Mr Macarthur presided. It was stated there was still a dsficit o£ £24:. . i It wag resolved to hold the annual I meeting on Easter Monday. i Mr Franklin was appointed secretary*, and to canvass for subscriptions and new members. Mr J. Hastie promiied a subscription of £10, provided the other publicans did the same. If they did not give a similar amount' he would subscribe £5 only. Mr F. Roe and Mr E. Bellve each promised a donation of £5. The chairman expressed dissatisfaction with the smallness of the two las* subscriptions. He certainly expected the two latter gentlemen (seeing the benefit they derived from race meetings) would have subscribed more liberally. H» himself came prepared to give a £5 donation, but the two last subscriptions had disappointed him, and he therefore declined to give anything whatever. A members 1 list was started m the room, when about 25 names were taken down by the secretary. After some further discussion it wai resolved, That the meeting adjourn till the 2nd Saturday m January, when the new secretary would report progress m the matter of subscriptions, and, if decided upon, a programme drawn up for the ensuing race meeting.
