VV 1878, and is now rising five years : old ; sire Fowler's Wallace, dam Maggie ; is a rich brown, is IB £ hands high, has a dean, flinty bone and nice hair, and is very active. His sire, the pure imported Clydesdale horse. Fowler's Wallace, bred by Mr Donald McKinley., Wouldhani Hall, near Gloucester, out of. a pure Clydesdale mare, bred by Mr J. N. Fleming, Campbelton, Scotland ; her sire, the celebrated horse Lofty Wallace, gained several first prizes before leaving the Old Country. Maggie was bred by Mr Sutherland, Taieri, Ota^i). out of a Napoleon marc, by Sir William Wallace (imported). Sir William Wallace bred by William Anderson, Esq., Kirkmichael, Ayrshire, out of Brisk, by Garibaldi. As a yearling took first prize at Maybole, Kirkmichael, and Glasgo>v, and second at Ayr. As a two-year-old, second at Ayr and Glasgow, and also second at the Highland Society's Show held that year at Edinburgh ; and wlien only three days landed m Otago took secoud prize against horses of all agf s at the Taieri, although only 2£ years old.
