The Agents-General meet Colonel Stanley on Thursday, to consider the subject of appointing a successor to Sir P. Scratchlay. A bill has been introduced into tho American Senate having for its object tho suspension of silver coinage m America. Dec. 16. Hopes arc entertained that Messrs Siines and Co., woolbrokers, will be able to arrange their affairs with their creditors without resorting to the Bankruptcy Court. The new steamer Bengal, buillt for the P. and O. Company, Has made her trial trip, when a speed of 15 knots was attained.
