An extraordinary scone has just occurred at a funeral near Macroom. A farmer named Sullivan was being interred and over 2000 people had assembled to ' witness the ceremony. The deceased was a rolative of Mr Jeremiah Hegarty, a boycotted trader at Mill-street, and Mr Hegarty attendod the funeral. The moment Mr Hegarty'a presence was observed all the peopla, including two clergymen, left the demonstration, and • only the immediate relatives of the deceased remained.
