The" late General ;. iScratchley was buried at 10' o'clock thig forenoon m St. Kilda Cemetery, Melbourne. The Bishop of Melbourne conducted the service. A public military funeral was accorded, and the attendance waa very large. The out-going members of the Education Board will be Messrs Carson, Fry, and the ; Rov Mr Ros«. The nomination papers will be sent out next month, to be returned iv time for the meeting towards the end of the month. The elections will take placo m February. Sir John Robertson last night brought down a rate of ceusure on the Now South Wales Government for the Budget proposal. The debate, which was acrimonious and personal m its tone, stands adjourned. Several newspapers m alluding to "Mr Taplin's insolvency have referred to him as v member of the Education Board. The fact is that he has ceased to be a member of that body for many months past.
