The half-yearly meefcrasr of the" Gourt Young Manawatu, 5655, A.0.F., was held m the Court Room last evening for the purpose of electing -the various otfioers for ensuing term :-rOhief' Ranger, Bro. Palmer was re-elected ; Sub-Cliief Ranger, Bro. Spencer ; Secretary, Bro. Moiiatt was unanimously elected ; Senr. Woodwardv Bro. Tarrant '-; junr. ditto, Bro. Hastings ; Senr. Beadle, Bro. Keen; Junr. Beadle, Bro. Bedford. Two new members were installed- into the Order. The installations to take place on the 29th, combined with a tea meeting, &c, On account of land negotiations now pending, prospecting m Tautnarunui is not to be perminted for the present. The general health of the passengers on board the Doriinda— the infected steamer, is imDroving. It ia hoped the . further spread of the disease will be checked. ' ' The Race Committee has declined per- j mission to Mr Partridge to erect a shooting gallery on the racecourse, m the event of possible casualties occurring. The otter of the Wellington Gas Company to light Paimerston with gas is of a very liberal character. All that is required is permission to lay the mains, erect works, &c. ...
