AUCKLAND TRAINING NOTES. (united press association.) Auckland, Monday. A lot of interesting work on the plough at Ellerslie this morning. Stoneyhurst and Wapiti were sent on a mile and ahalf journey, the best portion of which was done at their best pace. The Cup favourite weut very freely and strong, and he had little difficulty m doing aa ho liked with Wapiti. Nelson went twico round alone at a medium pace and with a fast brush home, and Tetford : went a similar distance strongly. Foul : Shot and Libeller, m sweaters, were sent threi times round at a steady pace, j spurting home. Salvage did strong j work. The chesnut, altho 1 on the bigside, looks well, and moved yerv freely. Turquoise, Necklace, Derringer, and Ra lames (m company) f after goin? a mile at a medium pace, were treated to a good ding-dong gallop. Derringer went particularly well, finishing home like a tiger, and ho is m such splendid condition that it seems a great pity he was not left m the Cup. Woodnymph (m sweaters) and Scot Free were sent once round m company at a good paea, and the two-year-old being pulled up, the daughter of Musket accomplished another round m company with Altrcd, who stuck to her well m the run home. The jumping horse King, and the two-year-old colt Musk Rose, did half-pace work. Maccaroni, looking fresh as a lark, went three times round steadily. Petroleum and Catesby were sent twice round, the pair rattling over the last five fur longs at a strong pace. Both went very freely. Capsize and Alpine Rose were restricted to walking exercise. Tasman, Kingask, Medico, Waitari, and Christina arrived to-day.
